Wardrobe Malfunction Or Intended Action

“Wardrobe malfunctions,” though appearing unintentional, are in most cases, the opposite. There are far too many of these incidents that would suggest otherwise. It is just utilizing the old saying in marketing: sex sells.

By examining the outfits, it is clear that its function is to reveal the artist in certain situations. It is poorly designed to hold together in extreme movements, or to properly adhere to the shape of the wearer in different times. Obviously, it is just a ruse.

It could not be inferred that it was poor judgment because the media attention that comes with it suggests that it is intentional. Sex sells. Any marketing expert would agree to this statement. No matter what era or cultural orientation, the act, or what implies the act, attracts attention. Whether it may be a celebrated one or a scandalous one, it attracts attention – which wardrobe malfunctions get whenever one happens.

Like what many marketing experts would agree, there is no bad publicity. No matter the situation, supplementing a bad situation with the right flair herds the darling public towards an intended sentiment. What better tool is there about sex than a public exhibition of sensual body parts?

It should come as no surprise then that wardrobe malfunctions are publicity stunts by artists. A little show of skin generates a massive buzz in the showbiz industry, often times a topic trending in all social media outlets. It puts the artist in a position to speak out and be known by many. It highlights the artist in news outlets instantly. It generates fame.

These wardrobe malfunctions should then be treated as nothing more than what it is – a stunt. It is purely utilizing the basic human need to experience sex to attract attention, and ultimately gain a following.
